Mahou Sensei Negima [127-128]

Pic related but not from these chapters

It’s a damn good thing I missed chapter 127 when it came out since it had a rather cheap cliffhanger.

Since Ako’s story got wrapped up, things have been more interesting in the manga. The focus has gone back to Nodoka, Yue and the Library Expedition Club in general. Sure, it’s nice to flesh out other characters, especially those that have had no “screen time” but in the end, the main characters are much more interesting to read about.

Nodoka and Yue (and Paru) are fun(ny) characters so the manga grabs my attention more when the storyline shifts to them.

Chapter 127 heating things up since the minor cliffhanger in ch126. It had some hilarious scenes too. The cliffhanger in ch127 was ghetto, especially after finding out what happens right afterwards in ch128. That was so random. Yue hopping off the ledge like that and then throwing a rope to catch herself… so like… what was that about? She wanted to jump off and changed her mind? She wanted to be melodramatic? Or Akamatsu-sensei just wrote up ch127 but had no idea what to do afterwards and ended up doing something silly? Whatever it may be, it turned out ghetto.

On the plus side, the drama picked up a lot in ch128 so that was cool. It’s rare to see dramatic scenes in this manga outside of fight scenes.

And of course, Negi has yet another slave. Yue’s card looks different from the one I saw in the past… I wonder if the one I saw was fake or maybe Akamatsu-sensei just changed his mind… in any case, she looks like a black mage and that fits her perfectly. I’m curious what her powers are… and heh, I wonder if Paru will end up with a pact, too. The implication was there at the end of chapter 128 but it was done in a joking manner so it may not happen yet.

Mahou Sensei Negima [126]

Oh hohoho… the truth is finally (sorta) revealed to Nodoka. Yue has kept quiet for a while but Haruka is just too damn clever. Finally, there’s some progression to one of the main stories… main is defined as those stories that *I* consider as main… meaning the one’s I care about.

It’s been a while since I’ve anticipated the next chapter of this manga. That’s a good thing AND a bad thing.

Damn it all!

Mahou Sensei Negima [ch125]

Not much going on in this one. The Ako story seems to be at an end now. They never got into what’s up with her scar but maybe there’s more to the story in the next chapter. In any case, she’s not that exciting of a char so I just want the story to move on.

Mahou Sensei Negima [ch167]

Finally, a new chapter got released. Well, to be more accurate, it got scanslated. In any case, the chapter was as fun as usual. This manga started off with a bang… well, it started off normally but once some key story arcs came into play, it really “banged” up then. Now, in it’s current storyline, it’s been more of a relaxin’ pace. Sure, it’s made some developments to the main story but it really hasn’t done much. This isn’t a complaint but the thrill of wondering where things will go is gone. Now, it’s just a fun read like any ‘ol comedy series. Having to wait a week or so for each chapter is killer, especially since one chapter doesn’t last long. It takes me five minutes to read a chapter after all that wait.

Hmm, now that I think about it, I wonder… manga released in the US tend to be on two month cycles, sometimes three. You get a whole volume but the wait can be long if you’re really anticipating it. But, if you average it out, for a two month series, it’s nearly getting a chapter a week so the pace is not all that diff from the weekly Japanese serializations (presuming it had a serialization). What I’m wondering about is if waiting a week for a chapter and going that route would be better or worse then a volume every two months. I can’t really picture a weekly release so it’s hard to guess. Being the impatient guy that I am, both suck donkey balls (yes, I want everything in life instantly)… hmm… it’s like eating beef jerky. It’s so good and addictive so you want to eat it all at once but you can’t savor the flavor if you do that. I try to eat it slowly but by the end, I just chomp it all down. I guess, I’m more of a “gimme it in chunks” kinda guy. I wonder if that answered my question?

…what was my question? I’m making no sense, maybe I’m watching too much Ichigo Mashimaro… Miu is rubbing off on me.

Ichigo Mashimaro [6-7]

Speaking of which, I caught these eps just now.

“Ah, my body is burning!”

Yep. Ep 6 is my fave episode. It’s just a full on Miu sillyness episode, plus, it has a nice connected ending to the ep. The funniest scene was actually not from a Miu antic but something Anna did.

Ok, so out of context, it doesn’t make any sense but I found this scene just hilarious. It was subtle and quick but such a riot. Anna would be the blonde and her written comment is refering to Miu after they saw Miu doing something silly… as per usual.

I love these kids! They’re too damn funny. I think… yes, I might have to say… no, I WILL have to say that they are superior to the AzuDai kids. YES! I said it. Take that!!

Time to crash.
