Someday’s Dreamers [6]

Wow. For a sec, I thought this ep was gonna end on a sad note… or at least a bittersweet one. Given the overall tone of this anime, I guess I shouldn’t expect something like that… well, at least not this early in the series.

Kera’s personality is drastically different from his early impressions. I figured he was just a happy-go-lucky side char but they actually devoted a whole ep to him. Eh, but in the end, it was just an alright ep like the last one. These two eps have more or less been one-shot eps since there was no development with Yume. Sure, it’s nice to flesh out the chars around the MC but I guess I figured different with this anime… initially.

Good stuff still. There’s a few mysteries floating around and I’m real curious as to what will develop from them. Yume’s true powers, her mom’s past, Oyamada’s past, and more on what the magic in this world really is. Hopefully they’ll all be answered in the last half of this series.

Someday’s Dreamers [5]

A nice ep. Sweet lil ep about Runa and that’s it. No instance of magic in this one. Just a character building ep. Oh, it was fine… just not much to comment on for this ep.

EDIT: Then what was the purpose of this entry?

Someday’s Dreamers [4]

Ok, now these magic powers are confusing me. I should’ve noticed it during ep 2 when Yume created that soccer scenario but I didn’t think about it then. Well, since something to that effect happened again, NOW I notice. What the hell are these powers? It’s not what one would consider “normal” magic powers. It’s almost as if they can do anything. Like, they have genie-in-the-lamp powers. Actually, I have no idea why I didn’t notice it in the first five minutes. I mean, Yume created friggin’ money out of nothing. That’s not exactly a typical “spell” used by your traditional mages.

And, again, it didn’t occur to me in ep 2 but Yume doesn’t just create images. The soccer scenario in ep 2 and the picnic on the moon in this ep… it seems they were actually real. Well, in ep 2, I think the visualization of being in an actual soccer match was in the guy’s head but the actions he took did happen in real life since the kids that were at the park all saw it. Why I didn’t pick up on that then… I have no clue.

Now in this ep, Yume doesn’t only create the image of being on the moon, it seems they actually WERE on the moon. The cut scene at that mage headquarters made that obvious. They were alerted to something actually happening on the moon at that same time… so it must mean Yume and co. were actually there… seems insane.

Well, it’s definitely quite strange but it makes things more interesting. This anime is not the “same ‘ol same ‘ol” as I originally thought. My interest has gone up a hundred-fold now.

Someday’s Dreamers [3]

Ahh, a heart-warming episode. Sorta. Hmm… but… I got a bit confused. Either the subtitling isn’t thorough or I’m just not picking some things up but I wasn’t quite sure what went down. I *think* Oyamada won the lottery and ended up switching his number with the client’s, Ayano’s, number… I think… but if he did, wow. That was a huge sacrifice to make things right for Ayano.

Heh, finally Yume does something worthy of a naive country girl. Her outburst towards Ayano was great. Just spewing out what she believed without caring about her surroundings… that’s classic naivety.

Someday’s Dreamers [2]

And there’s the conclusion to this lil two-parter. Yume seems to be some sort of extremely powerful mage. It’s a concept used many times in the past but given the type of this anime, it should play out differently. Heh, Yume has some funky looking hair sticking out. Having “antennae” isn’t unusual for anime girls but hers really stand out.

I keep straring at them whenever she’s on screen.

It’s like, right in the middle of her head too.

Above anything else, I’m curious about one thing. One of the most common tag-lines for this anime was how this country girl will set out to Tokyo to train as a mage but will also learn the most important lesson in life. I’m curious about this lesson. My best guess is “love” but that seems so simple. The line just stood out so it ravages my mind while I watch. Ahh, I should stop thinking about it then… it may not be as important as my mind is making it.
