Sola [3-6]

ZOMG I’m actually continuing something I’ve been neglecting.

Thankfully it was a decent one.

Up until halfway through episode 5, I almost forgot what show I was watching. After the somewhat fast-paced start, I expected plenty of intensity to this series. It’s not that those two and a half episodes dragged, it felt almost slice-of-life-esque. It didn’t have the same feel as previous episodes.

Then it picked up again. Not only that, there was even more shit thrown into the mix.

I’m having mixed feelings for this series. It’s got enough to make me curious and want to watch but w/o knowing some answers, all these mysteries with half the characters turning out to be Yaka is getting a bit overwhelming. Saying I’m confused would be an understatement. I flat out don’t know what’s going on.

Yeah yeah, I shouldn’t expect many, if any, answers when I’m not even halfway through this but I think I deserve a lil something for my efforts. That is, my effort in sticking with watching this.

So, Aono is a Yaka. Aono lost(?) Yorito in the past and that’s why she loves this Yorito? Mmm… so it was Matsuri that turned Aono? Takeshi is pissed for some reason and wants Matsuri dead yet he’s caring for his own Yaka… Geh, too many damn questions.

Just when I got used to the characters, it’s now the plot that’s making my brein bleed. Yet why am I still so curious about it? Well, I shouldn’t be mean. I don’t dislike this series so far. Most of these mysteries honestly make me curious. It’s in the sense where I want to know what’s up and not just because I’m randomly curious.

But as curious as I’m getting, there hasn’t been much to really pull me in and make me want to watch more. It’s missing a big draw. Ya know, something that makes viewers go “Oh snap, what was that all about?”

Ah well, It’ll probably be another month before I get the urge to watch more Sola.

Or not… who knows? I’ll find out eventually.

Sola [1-2]

Sola herts mi brein…

…but I kinda wanna watch more.

I wasn’t gonna watch this one but ended up starting it. I wasn’t gonna blog it either but here I am. I’ll probably not plan on doing more things while watching this and end up doing them anyway.

This anime confuses me. No, it’s not the mysteries, of which are bountiful. It’s the characters.

I don’t like Yorito but I don’t hate him either… yet. He’s a bit of a loser but he’s also laid back… his personality toys with my mind.

He’s got an older sister that’s sick. Older, not younger. And she’s one of those silent to-the-point types. And she’s sick. But she’s the older sister. Is my point made yet?

And his (my assumption) childhood friend has a little sister that’s… not cute? She’s unbelievably well-mannered. It’s a total clash to her features.

The rest are whatever but these characters confuse me. I’m so used to the tired ol’ cliches so when something different comes around, my brain bleeds from trying to understand it.

…but I’m gonna keep watching.

The mysteries do pique my curiosity. For so much (lack of) information thrown into just two episodes in a series that only goes to 13 episodes… this story can masterfully succeed with closure or fail miserably with plot holes.

I’ll keep watching until one of those happen.
