I lied. I watched this already, heh.

Still fun stuff!

Yeah, it’s faint but I do recall watching these two episodes. No big deal since I enjoyed most of it.

No real progression to the main stories here. It was just a compilation of side stories that were left out in the first season plus a couple new stories. None of the new stories were that great. Was there not enough stories so they had to make more up or are there some stories that never made it over? I can’t think of any off the top of my head.

One story did disappoint though. They changed the last story, the one with Harima and Yakumo working on the manga. Sure, my memory could be hazy but I don’t believe Yakumo ever read Harima’s thoughts as they showed in the OVA. It’s a minor issue but one that felt contrived and could’ve been left out.

If it was in the manga, then I’m upset it ever happened. This isn’t a “that wasn’t in the manga, wtf” complaint. I like how Yakumo remains a mystery. I like not knowing where she stands in terms of liking anyone, let alone Harima.

Oh but I digress… the Karen/Lala/Imadori story was the best. Naturally cuz it’s Karen and also cuz those three make the best combo for laughs. It’s interesting how Lala becomes more and more girlish as the manga progresses. While reading one of the chapters, I didn’t even realize she let her hair down. I went back to the beginning and she had it like that from the start. The transition was so subtle I almost missed it.

Alrighty then, now I’m certain I’m heading into new anime… after episode one of the 2nd season. I have caps saved from that episode so I must have watched and blogged it when it came out. It would’ve been nice to see what I wrote down for it but sadly, it is another lost page in intarnets history.
