That was good stuff.
Pre-game warm-up

First Half

The scene with Misawa was awesome. He’s such a nondescript character yet they gave him a sweet role during this battle. I loved it.
Misawa: “Open a really good cafe, got it?”
Pimp line. Top five School Rumble lines and it was by a nondescript guy, haha.

Half-time with Karen

I wonder if that’s really Karen singing? Or rather, her VA, MAKO. I gotta look that up sometime.
Oh yeah, Karen’s VA is different from the first season and I love the switch. Nanri Yuuka was the original VA and sure, she did a fine job but MAKO’s voice fits Karen so much better. MAKO also did Yurie from Kamichu! and I loved her voice there.

Second Half

Game Over (Shounen-Ai Style *snicker*)

As serious as this scene was suppose to be, I laughed.

Miko-CHAAAAAN!

Ah hahaha, that cracked me up just as much as the manga did. Top five moments? Maybe… definitely in the top ten.
Overall, the survival game was as entertaining as I had hoped. Some of the cooler scenes weren’t shown as impressively as the manga. That one shot of Oji dropping the “dead” body and popping out was a great shot in the manga but in the anime, it was much too dark and lacked detail. Also, Harima’s first intro shot was tight in the manga but very weak in the anime.
Aside from that nitpicking, lots of fun to watch. Haha, was the blood in some of the scenes really necessary? Hahaha…
I love how this anime truly lives up to it’s name. The “rumble” doesn’t just signify random toon violence or shoddy action sequences, it tries to be realistic with action stories such as this one. It’s great I tell ya.
Seriously, the kids in 2-C are way too buff.

A small note.
They added a lil extra to Tsugumi’s story.

There was none of this backstory in the manga and normally, I’d bitch about it since it never fits right yet I won’t this time. I kinda liked it and it sets a nice precedence to her (very minor) stories later on. Yeah, its contradicting of what I normally think but hell, sometimes the anime does right.
