Goooooood stuff.
School Rumble does not fail to entertain. The stories don’t just revolve around a handful of characters and one male lead and it’s all these characters that really drive School Rumble. Many of the characters display unique characteristics that aren’t arbitrary. Harima is completely different from the typical male MCs while Tenma, Eri, Karen, and a few others display traits not found in characters typical of their type.
And it’s not just the characters themselves. The interaction between all these fun characters, many of which are caught up in this huge love dodecagon, provide the most entertainment. Sure, the stories are fun and the “action”, like during the sports festival, is highly entertaining, but in the end, what drove me to wanting more School Rumble was to see the characters develop with each other.
Silly comedies don’t normally deserve such extensive praise but School Rumble isn’t normal. I wanted to see more of these characters and I wanted to see how things developed between them all the while laughing my ass off.
I didn’t get to blog School Rumble back when I first watched but if I did, I would have ended the mini-review entry with:
“I can’t wait for more School Rumble.”
Overall series score: 9.4 out of 10
