I was gonna watch this one then decided on a change of pace and wasted like an hour going back and forth on titles and ended up watching this one anyway.

Yes, that was meaningless information. For something more applicable…

I liked this episode.

Primarily, it was about Kyoya. Hidden behind that, it was about Tamaki. Hidden behind that, it was about Haruhi. Hidden behi… I kid. I’ll stop.

I was serious up until the last one, though. This episode was a simple one. It had a relaxed pace and was lighter on the crazy comedy. Overall, it was a refreshing episode.

And Haruhi is teh smrt! She sees between every friggin’ line.

Oh snap… was that a cliffhanger?

I watched episodes 14 and 15 last night but there was enough worth blogging about. Even though *gasp* there was a cliffhanger. Given what transpired in episode 16, I’m glad I didn’t get all up into the cliffhanger. In retrospect, that cliffhanger was weak. Arai was barely involved in the story.

With the bitching’s out of the way, episode 16 was good. I had one of the biggest LOLOL moments in that episode. At the beginning, when Arai said he got rejected and everyone became surprised, including Haruhi… then Kyoya says to Haruhi, “why are you surprised?”… HAHAHAHA. I watched that scene several times. That was too much.

Additionally, I finally got a taste of what I been longing for. I knew this series could pull off some good drama. The set-up was weak and the events were predictable but the mood was done right. I “felt” the emotions. That’s all that matters.

SIGH… now I really want more serious stories.

Fuckin’ tease.

I suppose it’s worth noting that this was the first time Kaoru and Hikaru acted like separate entities. Their little scuffle a few episodes back doesn’t count since it was staged. Heh, their individual personalities reminds me of the oh-so-typical pair of guys that plague shoujo manga. The cool and quiet guy versus the wild and talkative guy.

Lastly… there was something… what was it…

I give up.

I’m gonna stop expecting anything more than a comedy romp. I’m probably ruining some of the fun by constantly hoping for more than this is. I still believe it’ll churn out some deeper stories in the future but screw it.

Time to finally accept this for what it is (so I say but it’s probably too late).

This last set of episodes was overly silly. Episodes 11 and 12 were more episodic silliness and episode 13 felt like a funky recap hidden behind the Alice story. The execution was so-so but I enjoyed the build-up and how it ended. Most of it was a dream, while the opening scene before Haruhi falls down the rabbit hole was probably a real memory. She didn’t seem too happy back then, did she? This episode was a convoluted way of showing how much Haruhi had changed. She’s definitely having more fun now.

And her goal is rather obvious, isn’t it? I didn’t put it together until now since I forgot about her having a goal when her mother’s occupation was brought up in episode 10. She must have really looked up to her mother. Now, I’m even more curious as to what happened to her.

Well, this brings me to the halfway mark. In retrospect, this series felt slow at times yet it’s been highly entertaining. The key to that was utilizing a slew of comedy styles. I’m sure it’ll be more of the same in the second half and if it happens to bust out some intense stories…

Well, I’ll leave it at that for now.

Yay, finally some Haruhi lub.

Cute lil episode for Haruhi. They finally showed her father (wtf okama?) and how she lives. The intro to the episode was a riot; making it look like she was completely poverty-stricken. Haha good stuff.

The bit of story for Haruhi was nice but still, it wasn’t much. Her back story, especially regarding her mother, remains a mystery. Hell, the back stories of most of the characters are unrevealed. I’m probably gettin’ ahead of myself since it ain’t even half way through the series yet. I suppose, most of the episodes have been revealing a bit of the characters. I am antsy and want some more meat but this pace ain’t too bad either.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. In contrast to the last one, which gave ‘funky’ a whole new meaning, this one really stood out. Yeah, I’m also biased since it was all about Haruhi.

It’s kinda strange. I’m so into Haruhi who’s such a normal character. Hell, if I think about it, she’s rather plain. Yet, she’s still the main reason why I wanna watch more.

Boggles the mind.

It’s kinda hard to say “that was totally random” to a show that is riddled with randomness… but… that was totally random. When the twins were mentioned early on, I thought it’d lead to some character building. No way in hell could I have guessed it’d end up with the boys in drag.

At least it wasn’t a total loss. Haruhi mentions she came to this school for a reason.

Will that reason become a big story in the future?
