One Piece – Dead End Adventure (4th Movie)

What better way to open this up than with Nami fan service?

This fourth movie was a fun watch. It’s been a while since I caught a One Piece movie and this one was refreshing.

It had the usual silly antics…

…and fight scenes…

…and ominous new characters…

…but it lacked impact. Or “oomph.”

Too much time was wasted for the set-up and there wasn’t enough action by the rest of the crew. The story wasn’t quite as dramatic either. If they spent more time in the race and less building up to it, some of the latter scenes could’ve been sweet.

Oh yeah, and Robin’s power is so funky. It’s freaky every time I see her do it but the more I see it, the more it seems like she can pretty much do whatever the hell she wants.

I mean, seriously, making a huge ass arm with a crapload of her tiny arms…

…practical but still freaky.

In the end, it was just an entertaining watch and nothing more.

Especially crazy Nami, she’s always fun to watch.

Score wouldn’t even get past a 6.0 w/o some crazy Nami.

Overall movie score: 8.0 out of 10

One Piece [183]

Hell, I couldn’t start watching anime again without catching more One Piece, now could I?

And as I say every time I come back from a One Piece break, oh how I miss teh funnay. Luffy will always be that insanely stupid kid with more determination than anyone. Plus, sometimes he actually looks cool… sometimes.

Usually, he’ll just look silly, especially when he comes up with the weirdest new abilities, haha.

One Piece [180]

Oh the intensity! Fuggin’ chars are droppin’ like flies…

Just like that, it went from 6 to 2 not including Luffy and Aisa. Of course, there’s no way Enel is done but as far as this episode has shown, only Nami and Wiper still stand.

And dammit! Luffy didn’t make an appearance AT ALL in this episode. Not even a glimpse or a mention. He hasn’t been shown ever since Enel pwnd that snake so I suppose they trying to make us think he’s done for… but hell naw he ain’t. He too buff.

If they wanted to show off how powerful Enel is, they sure as hell did that in this episode. He picked apart Gan Fall and Robin like nothing and messed up Zoro easy… but it also shows how buff Zoro is since he got shocked and still remained conscious. I don’t think Enel used a special attack though.

Ahhhh, I was gonna save this ep until I got more later but shit, as can be obviously seen, I couldn’t. I lub One Piece too much.

One Piece [179]

I know there’s some crew missing but this pic is tight

This story arc is so long and yet there hasn’t been a single episode that felt like it was “dragging”… of course, this one included.

I could be biased since One Piece is among a handful of anime that I have absolutely nothing bad to say about. Except for the filler arcs, I really get caught up in every episode I watch.

Enel is frightening. He’s much more fearsome animated than in the manga. I knew he was buff but I never had that “OMG HE’S LEET” moment. I’ve done that twice now. Seriously. I said that. Out loud. True story.

According to Enel, there’s only 6 left now but of course it’s actually 8 since he hasn’t included Luffy and Aisa.

HAHAHAHAHAHA, I just recalled the scene with Zoro and the stupid boxer dog. That was SO lame how that “battle” ended but… it was fuckin’ hilarious! Stupid dog.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh, I want more! I’ve almost completely forgotten the rest of the Sky story arc in the manga so I’m going even more crazy with anticipation… and severe impatience… GAH!

EDIT: Ok, using pics is nice but where are the damn screenies.

One Piece [178]

Only a handful of people remain now.

Zoro’s battle gave me a mixed reaction. I could say that he’s just way buff and all but this time, he wasn’t being serious… that’s why he kept getting screwed by Ohm. Once he got serious, it was over in a flash. Or… I could say that the battle was incredibly anti-climatic… Idk… it felt like a cheap way to end things but Zoro really is that buff so… eh.

Heh, Luffy thinking that skeleton was Nami was a riot.

I’m still laughing from that.

…until I recall the ending. Enel can fuck things up hardcore with this power. Of course, this “mantra” only exists in Skypiea but damn if it isn’t buff.

Ahhhhh, one episode at a time isn’t enough! I should just pile them up and watch it in blocks. I can’t believe how fast this episode went by. I don’t even remember the halfway mark.

The count now is:
4 from Luffy’s crew (Luffy, Zoro, Nami, and Robin)
1 from Enel’s crew (Enel)
1 from Shandia (Wiper)
1 from Skypiea (Gan Fall)

That brings the total to SEVEN. Two more to go for Enel’s prediction… hmm…

I left out some cuz I don’t think they were in the original total.
2 animals (Big ass snake and that stupid boxing dog… that makes me laugh…)
2 misc. (Aisa and Conis)

It feels so heated but there’s still like 15 episodes left for this story arc. Ahhhh, I’ve stopped myself from reading the manga so many times…. AHHHHH….

EDIT: FINALLY A FRIGGIN’ SCREENIE!
