Nagasarete Airantou [22]

Parts of the previous entry were originally the opener for this episode post but seeing as how my bitchings about being sick went beyond what was necessary, I opted to leave it as its own entry.

Therefore, I gots nothing for this one.

Oh yeah, the episode was interesting.

Primarily a Yukino episode with some minor Suzu developments.

Yukino is… Yukino. Her animal buddies are more fun to watch than her. She ain’t boring but her antics are the same as any other childishly cute loli and thus, she’s just ‘meh.’

I did enjoy the Suzu developments. It’s obvious things are getting set-up for whenever her final story comes into play. She probably still doesn’t understand her own feelings but she knows for certain she wants Ikuto with her.

Presuming an ending where Ikuto and Suzu decide to stay together, I wonder which direction it’ll go? Will they decide to “be together” which leaves things vague since it could be as a family or “more than friends, less than lovers” or will they actually admit their interest for each other? Or some other option I can’t think of… but those two are the more common ones.

Hmm… I hope it doesn’t end with Ikuto leaving (or close to leaving) the island. That would turn into predictable drama. Though, if he does actually leave and stays gone w/o Suzu following, that would be an interesting twist of an ending.

Or is it door number 3?

So-so episode.

Machi is funny but her antics don’t have as much sustaining power as others. The degree at which I laughed exponentially decreases. In other words, first 5 minutes I’m goin’ “WAHAHAHAHAHA” then the mid-5 minutes I’m at “Heh…” and by the end, it’s “…”

That’s why this episode was “so-so.”

And to nit-pick…

It was cool when Suzu figured out the fake Ikuto and all but it was lame having her go through an obvious explanation to show how much closer she is to him than the other girls. They really reached for that one.

/end nit-picking

Only five more episodes left. At most three more random “let’s have a story on this girl” episodes then it should be on to Suzu and the finale. I figured the series would wrap up with Suzu a while ago but that was more of a gut feeling. If they wanted to end this anime, then that’s the way it’d have to be. Now, I’m even more convinced. There hasn’t been a Suzu story in a while; long enough that I can’t remember the last episode that featured her. The series can’t end without giving her the spotlight, can it? I think not.

Five more episodes. This is practically a story-less sit-com yet I feel sad.

Shit ain’t done and I miss it already.

Nagasarete Airantou [20]

Well, a part of me was hoping I was wrong. I don’t exactly *want* predictable stories. It’s a good thing the comedy doesn’t fail to entertain.

As if it wasn’t already obvious, the intro scene blatantly gave it away.

There was one small surprise. I thought Ikuto was gonna solve the mystery. In the end, he totally got owned. Haha, I suppose “cool” and “smart” don’t necessarily go hand-in-hand. Ikuto does lack brain power.

Ahhh too much teh funnay. I look forward to more.

Nagasarete Airantou [19]

More new characters!

More silliness!

More spliced screenies!

*Ahem*

So, like, ZOMG it’s a two-parter. Granted, this episode was a bit slower than usual. They spent a lil too much time building up this story just so they can have a dramatic “oh noes it’s the killer” cliffhanger.

Of course, I still laughed.

The scene where Ayane was “dead” then it pans to Ikuto’s nosebleed…

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I’d throw in more “HAHAs” but I don’t wanna turn this into a 15 page entry. Yes, I “HAHA’d” that much. I was flailing about laughing so damn hard. That scene alone made up for any flaws in this episode.

On to the story, isn’t it kinda obvious? They randomly introduced Chikage’s mother then they go into this mystery story. Totally gotta be her. I can’t give this anime that much credit to not go with the obvious answer.

Chikage’s mother in the onsen with the lead pipe.

Now I regret not gettin’ into the characters in my first bulk Nagasarete Airantou entry. Every since I said I’ll blog about the original girls in future entries, I’ve yet to actually talk about them. It’s just been new girl after new girl these past episodes with the exception of Chikage in the last episode.

Ah well, it’s not like I’m leaving out super important comments.

Shinobu was alright. If anything, she served as a means to make Ikuto look cooler, haha. Her character provided some laughs and that’s about it. Nothing much more for her.

I suppose, all these one-shot episodes are useful. Suzu gets more and more agitated and restless when other girls cling on to Ikuto. It’s obvious she’s feeling something but she’s still ignorant on what those feelings mean. Guess Suzu and Ikuto’s story will be the last one, eh?

This is still a fun watch and I think I’m at the point now where I don’t care about the story. I just want more silliness.
