The characters surrounding Ryushi are all so quirky but it’s a shame he’s such a boring MC.

Episodes 2 & 3 closed out the little intro arc revolving around Kozue and her multiple personalities. It was especially interesting at the end of the 2nd episode. When Kozue got all shocked again, it seemed obvious she’d change into Saki again but they threw in a third personality. Something surprising like that would definitely keep me interested. From the start, Kozue was running the show so it didn’t matter what I thought about Ryushi.

That is… it worked fine for those first three episodes. The next three eps went into individual character stories. Episode 4 wasn’t too bad since it was more story for Kozue and overall, it was a pretty funny episode. Plus, it was the first episode for Miyabi, the art teacher, and well… she’s so freakishly cute that she makes a funny supporting character… presuming they show her more.

Then again, maybe she’s just freaky….

Episode 5 & 6 were slow though. Ep 5 went into Asami and Sayoko’s story a bit while ep 6 showed a slightly different but mostly the same side of Tamami. The only memorable scenes were the one’s that had Sayoko doing something silly. Even then, the eps weren’t that exciting overall.

Hell, the funniest Sayoko moment was in episode 3 when she popped out of nowhere and tore into the groceries.

It’s amazing how incompetent she is as a mother. I know it’s comedy but her irresponsibleness and laziness is so extreme… I pity Asami… but I still find Ayoko hilarious…… I’m at an impasse.

Ryushi is getting wussier by the minute but it’s hard to completely blame him. Megumi and Tamami don’t exactly give him any room to be manly. They are so dominating that I actually feel sorry for Ryushi at times. I hope this whole pattern of him getting pushed around doesn’t last too much longer. It’s starting to get annoying. Sure, it’s still funny but eventually the annoyance will outgrow the humor.

I want to like this series since most of the characters are fun to watch but right now, it’s slipping to borderline watchable. Meh, I shouldn’t judge too quickly since it’s still in the “introduce a character per episode” stage. They need to bring on more Kozue stories (with and without her other personalities) and I’ll maintain interest. She’s the only character that doesn’t have something that annoys me… well, her and Johnny… heh…

He should get more screentime, too.

His absolute WEIRDNESS deserves it.

Now see, if I wanted to watch a harem anime, I’d have done so by choice (e.g. .hack//Legend of the Twilight).

I tried picking up where I left off (ep 12) but I was way too lost. Even for a simple romantic comedy, I had no clue what was going on (since my memory sucks donkey balls). This series is a lot of fun to watch so starting over isn’t so bad. I’m afraid I’ll end up neglecting it eventually (once all the April anime rolls around) but for now, I’ll see how it goes.

There isn’t much difference from this and the countless other romantic comedies except for Kozue. Her multiple personalities is about the only thing that’s unique in this anime. The novelty of her switching around does get old but it provides a refreshing style of comedy. The personalities she incorporates aren’t unique in themselves. It’s the fact that they all stem from the same character that makes it entertaining.

I tend to over-comment on… and grossly hate on… the male MC in romantic comedies quite often but this one is different. Due to Kozue’s interesting character, my focus shifts to her for the most part and that’s a good thing. I’m sure I could pick apart Ryushi like I do any other lame male MC but it’s nice that I won’t… as often… hopefully…

Ah, I look forward to more Ayoko moments. Her antics were involved in some of the funniest scenes in this anime… she’s so lazy… and slow… and dumb… and hilarious! I’m sure I’ll have many screenies of her in future episode updates.
