Hiiragi sisters: Defeated

Nothing much to note. I liked the “cameos” during the comiket, heh.

Shrine Maidens, hyuu hyuu~

Gangsta’ Akira

No, actually she’s sick. She still looks gangsta’ though.

Wonder if her time will ever come? Hahaha… I’ll laugh all the way up to it.

Lucky Star [8-11]

The silly conversations continue to amuse me. Some of the novelty has worn off but I’m still LOLOLO’ing a lot so I guess it’s still good, right?

Not much else to talk about. It’s just silly fun.

Oh, there are some other characters in the intro. I wonder if they’ll ever show up.

Lucky Star [4-7]

Really, this show is about nothing. It really is an anime Seinfeld. Unlike Ichigo Mashimaro or Azumanga Daioh, it’s not filled with silly antics and funny encounters… it’s all dialogue. They constantly talk about the most random things, jumping from subject to subject. Hell, if I think about it, it may seem random but I so relate to all the conversations, hahaha.

Since it’s so dialogue heavy, I didn’t even notice that the animation is really lame. The art is nice with solid colors but hardly anything is animated. If I wasn’t so caught up trying to balance reading the subtitles and watching the show, I might have made a bigger deal about it.

Besides just random conversations, this show does have it’s fair share of parodies… of which I find hilarious.

To Heart
Not really a parody but the name drop in this short scene got me laughing.

Initial D
AHH hahaha, they even CG’d the cars.

And had the typical bystanders commentating.

Plus, the whole scene had music similar to (or directly from) Initial D.

Maria-sama ga Miteru
OMG Konata’s scenes enacting this one were killer funny.

And of course, can’t finish this w/o showing more of Akira’s dual personalities.

Lucky Star [1-3]

This has got to be the simplest, most senseless and utterly pointless anime I have ever watched… and I don’t think I can stop watching. HAHAHA…

I was jotting my thoughts down while watching but I doubt I can really warrant an episode by episode break-down for this one. I had to note what I was doing because part way through episode 1, I wrote “this is slow… and weird… WTF i wanna watch more” and part way through episode 2, I wrote “WTH I can’t stop watching… this is too funny but it makes no sense.”

…HAHAHAHA… and it’s still true.

There’s no order or story to this show. It just jumps around from scene to scene and always consists of random conversations about a multitude of topics, some of which deal with the same shit I would talk about after watching anime or reading manga. It reminds me of that Seinfeld episode where Seinfeld and George were pitching a show about nothing.

Get it? A show about nothing talking about a show about nothing… that’s just like this anime. An anime talking about anime and manga, hahaha. Did I really have to explain that?

It’s really hard to call this show a slice-of-life comedy since the subject matter is just so random. It does have that feel to it but it’s incredibly… incredibly… nonsensical.

Ah well, on to more important matters.

Konata is my new fave anime chick, hahaha.

Her facial expressions, her voice, her attitude… her character is just priceless. I can’t stop laughing when she talks and if I find a moment where I’m not laughing, she’ll say something totally random and make me bust up again.

Akira, who (thus far) only appears during the Lucky Channel segment at the end of the show, is also a riot. Her character is suppose to be cute but when she starts going off on shit with her “real” voice… OMG it’s hilarious.

It’s a parody of actors dropping character on film or some shit like that.

In any case, she cracks me up.

Oh, the ending credits sequence is cool. Instead of the usual, it’s just a shot of a closed door. The girls are behind in a room singing karaoke. The nifty thing is that each time, it’s a new sequence and a different song combined with random chatter among the girls. Hell, I actually watched the entire credit sequence for all three episodes.

Yes, I said “nifty.”

…holy shit, I actually did type a lot. Hahaha…
