Watching one of the umpteen new shows this season was an inevitability. Choosing one w/in the bishoujo game genre was also an inevitability.
In my defense, this one was good.

Granted, I won’t bring up the 2093749837 series’ I’ve been neglecting.
Oops.
The first thing I noticed about this series is the vibrant colors. Noting the caps above, check out the skin colors. Most of the characters don’t have pale skin and they don’t all fall w/in two or three different shades of colors. Each character practically has their own shade of skin color.
Haha… don’t ask me why *that’s* the first thing I noticed.
Beyond that, there are so many fuggin’ characters. And they threw most of them in during this first episode. And, like… there’s multiple male MCs? I haven’t read anything about this game so I’m clueless on the story (though I read a bit of the manga). A lil bit of extra reading up tells me this anime is incorporating multiple male MCs which I assume the game had only one… then again my “extra reading” was catching a snippet of info somewhere randomly on the net so meh… screw all this.
I’ll just enjoy the anime for what it is, an anime. It’s more fun this way.
And I expect to enjoy this anime. Mao is a supremely likable character. I can’t say much for the other girls yet since they’ve all only had short introduction scenes but none seem annoying yet. All three shown guys aren’t annoying yet, either. Dude, that’s a great sign. The probability of finding characters annoying after the first episode drops off by at least 50%.
I’ll have some extra annoyance buffer since Mao is a fun character. Btw, is it a coincidence she’s voiced by Ikezawa Haruna who also did Yoshino from Maria-sama ga Miteru who has an uncanny resemblance to Mao? Ok ok, it’s mostly the hair but the personality is kinda sorta close! Kinda sorta… maybe… not really… but kinda sorta!
Anyway, this series should be fun and if there are multiple male MCs, I welcome it. I can’t recall an anime that spotlighted several relationships since Boys Be…. It’s a rare thing to see.
But in the end, I just want more Mao.
