Kaze no Stigma [3]

There we go, that’s a lil better. When it’s time to turn the serious on, let’s keep it that way. My assumption that it was flawed like Full Metal Panic was a tad too soon. This show does hop back and forth between seriousness and comedy but it’s solely dependent on when Ayano is on screen. Since it’s secluded to just her, it’s not something I’ll get all pissy about… yet… hopefully.

Now for this episode, I must be tired. How the hell didn’t I guess the Fuuga clan? It was like, so obvious (in retrospect). What an idiot (I am). Need more subtext (ok, I’ll stop).

I have to admit, I’m somewhat disappointed. Given the synopses I read on this show, I expected the whole Kazuma vs. Kannagi issue to go on longer. I also figured Kazuma and Ayano would be rivals and battle a few times. Though the latter can still happen, the story quickly shifted to it’s current focus. That’s kinda boring. What was an interesting twist in the plot ends up as something rather typical so it’s lost some luster.

Hopefully there’ll be some spicier things in the future.

Maybe this mysterious girl in Kazuma’s flashbacks will perk things up.

And once again, another note on Ayano. She’s so totally a Kaname rip-off.

Seriously.

So I kinda like her, haha.

Speaking of which…

Is this a sign of things to come?

Hyuu hyuu~

I’m babbling a lot now. Maybe I should watch a few episodes before blogging.

Kaze no Stigma [2]

Note the diverse assortment of screenies.

The rapid shift between silly comedy and hardcore seriousness is somewhat overwhelming. It’s toying with my emotions. Should I laugh? Oh wait, while I’m laughing, some serious shit just happened. Should I be in awe? Oh shit, Ayano made a funny face again…

Ok, I should quit that nit-picking.

All that aside, the true villains have appeared though their identity is still unknown. They seem intent on destroying the Kannagi clan. If I stretch it, it could be that they want to take out the Fire Spirit and the Kannagi clan is a means of reaching them. I’m sure there’s some other confusing shit involved as well.

Kazuma’s cool-headed attitude didn’t last very long, did it? He was all about going super saiyan while grunting and yelling his attacks in this episode. He still seems reliable so it’s fine… for now. He really is uber buff. I didn’t expect him to wtfpwn his father so easily.

Ayano, on the other hand, is just as silly. She’s the only reason I can’t take this show seriously. Ya know, she kinda reminds me of Kaname from Full Metal Panic. She provides the 1001 silly faces while the rest of the story dramatically moves along. Of course, Ayano has a ways to go to even hold a candle to Kaname.

Kaname = Best. Anime. Chick. Evar.

Oh yeah, back to this show, it really is crazy. All these people are dying and shit yet the silly comedy is always rampant. I truly hope it doesn’t suffer the same fate as the first season of Full Metal Panic. My biggest complaint for that show was its disjointedness. The seriousness and the comedy flipped back and forth so sporadically, it was too difficult to properly take in the story.

Eh, I shouldn’t jinx myself.

Kaze no Stigma [1]

Well damn, why the hell did I keep putting this one off.

That was one helluva first episode.

They stuffed quite a lot of shit into just one episode. Set up several mysteries, rivalries, back stories, relationships… hell, I feel like I watched 4 episodes.

I’m already liking the main characters. Kazuma is buff and has a calm demeanor. He keeps that up, there’s no way he’ll annoy me. Ayano is a total high school girl. She’s definitely different than what I assumed given her role. I pictured her to be more serious and temperamental. So far, she’s been the source of all the comedy.

Of course, this is all from just one episode. It really was impressive; I just had to make a post before watching more. Plus, this keeps me from marathoning it, heh.

I really need to sit back and soak in the shows I watch instead of blazing thru them.
