Ginban Kaleidoscope – Final Thoughts

Well, it’s over. It wasn’t a long series and I started it up late (around 8 eps were out when I started) so it’s only been a month long ride. Fun series with a lot of silly comedy. It can wear thin but I still laughed a lot. It’s too bad they didn’t focus more on one of the three main stories: Tazusa and her skating, the romantic drama aspect or just the silly comedy. They tried to balance them all and in the end, they all felt thin. They weren’t shooting to make an all-time great anime, so no biggie. Like I said, it was a fun watch and I have no complaints. They didn’t try to do more then they should and they wrapped it up nice enough.

Strong Points:
Comedy
Characters

Weak Points:
Stories needed more focus

Overall series score: 7.1 out of 10

Ginban Kaleidoscope [12] (end)

Oops, heh heh. I got ahead of myself. I forgot that there was a long program too. This ep wasn’t overly dramatic but at least the ending for the skating part of the story wasn’t anti-climatic as I first mentioned. As expected, all the stories were closed off the way I guessed. Well, I figured Tazusa wouldn’t get first but I didn’t guess she wouldn’t place at all. It’s a shame for Pete. His fate was inevitable but it was satisfactory cuz anything that changed that would’ve been too outrageous. So sad… well, not that sad.

Ginban Kaleidoscope [11]

I put it off for a week but I finally caught this ep. Now, just one more ep before this series is finished.

This ep was rather… anti-climatic. I know the focus of the series wasn’t just about Tazusa and her winning a gold but… I expected a more dramatic finish to this part of the story. Well, it was appropriate. The whole skating thing was only touched up throughout the series so ending it like they did was better then suddenly making it super dramatic… I suppose… Idk, it’s a light-hearted comedy so I doubt it matters which way they went.

Well, now to find out what happens to Pete.
