Ergo Proxy [3]

More questions and mysteries thrown into the mix with no answers but at least the separate mysteries are slowly getting tied together.

Vincent seems to play a bigger role than I originally believed. He’s being chased by the Proxy but, of course, I dunno why yet. Cops are probably chasing him to shut him up but then, that’d be the obvious answer. And Pino… wth is she? She’s the only autorave shown that’s practically human… and I ask again, wth is she?

This episode also shows us that this city or whatever called “Romudo” is secluded. There’s a world outside it seems… for some reason, I got a flash of Demolition Man for a sec, hehe. Anyway, now Vincent and Pino are outside… but I have no idea what that means.

Geh, I have absolutely no idea where this anime is headed. The focus shifted in this episode and though the characters are getting tied together (very loosely at that), there are still several mysteries that have no relations with each other… yet… I keep saying “yet”… and yet… what else can I do? Three episodes and I’m more confused than after watching just one.

Buuuuuut…. Lir will keep me watching a bit more, hehehe.

EDIT: Geez, did I really not know a damn thing while watching this?

Ergo Proxy [2]

The mystery just becomes thicker while the violence gets turned up a notch… and Lir remains hot.

Well, now it’s become a conspiracy. Lir is just the focus but the higher ups are trying to keep everyone from realizing what’s out there… unfortunately, that prevents me from know what the hell is going on as well. This “Proxy” is rampaging around and I have no idea what it’s up to… plus there’s two of them and that confuses me even more. Ahh, I suppose if I knew exactly what was going on right now, this anime wouldn’t become very interesting.

This episode also introduced some violent shit. It wasn’t graphic but it was still some fucked up shit… and showing the scenes with that baby just to have it get owned at the end… that was fucked up.

And talk about cliffhangers! Not one, not two, but THREE things got hung up at the end of this episode. Ya got the lil girl autorave being stalked at her place, Vincent lookin’ like he’s gonna go insane and Lir finding Vincent’s necklace at her place… all three of which I have NO idea on the implications of yet…

Sooo… instead of silly speculation, I might as well just watch the third episode, heh.

Ergo Proxy [1]

Lir is bangin’.

After re-watching this with comprehensible subtitles, I still don’t understand much… cept that Lir is hot.

The first version I watched was shown as a preview about a month back and it made very little sense. It didn’t help that the subtitling made HK subs look like an English Thesis. So, before continuing on with this series, I had to re-watch the episode with proper subs.

And as I’ve said already, it’s still hard to understand. So much shit gets thrown out in just this one episode that it all gets jumbled up under one big mystery. On the surface, it seems to be a neo cyber-punk version of Ghost in the Shell but the story seems like it’ll be quite different (as it should). Aside from that, the rest is sweet.

The animation is solid. It’s not outstanding but its well done. The action scenes were smooth and it used interesting perspectives. The art is great. If they wanted a truly gritty look, they did their job… plus I’m a sucker for gothic makeup. Though I don’t get what’s going on yet, it’s a treat to watch so I’ll keep up with it for now (two more episodes before I’m caught up).
