And the rest are in an unknown status. Going from 24/7 free time to a few hours a day with days off really changes things. I actually have to prioritize whereas I use to just watch anything and EVERYTHING I got my hands on… and I do mean EVERYTHING. I’ve seen more crap than good shit.

Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid [7-13] (end)

The seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, eleventh, twelvth, and thirteenth episodes of Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid:

Dramatic.

Dramatically Pimp!

Funny too.

But more Dramatic.

Seriously, this series goes down in history as an incredible series. I loved it. Nearly everything about it was perfect. Story was deep, thorough and conclusive. Characters were just as good as I remembered, especially Kaname (though her “screentime” was limited in this sequel). Action was turned up a hundred-fold as well as the animation. And again, what a great story. I loved it.

Yeah, I’m blowing one helluva huge horn but there have only been a handful of animes that have caused this type of reaction after I watched them. Cowboy Bebop, Serial Experiments Lain and Kimi ga Nozomu Eien are all I can think of atm.

The biggest drawback of the first series was not being able to take the serious moments as seriously as one could due to the inconsistent way they alternated between the comedy and seriousness. That was definitely resolved in this sequel. I really felt heartfelt drama in this one.

Damn. I can’t stop praising it. It’s that damn good. Fuck the original. Go watch this. You’ll understand enough even w/o the original. Then go watch Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu! for the laughs. Both sequels kick ass.

Fuck the original. These two are all you need.

EDIT: I didn’t talk much about the series itself, did I? How silly.

Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid [3-6]

The third, fourth, fifth, and sixth episodes of Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid:

I’ve overused the word but…

Pimp!

Everything that should’ve been done in the first season was done right in this one. Smoother action to comedy transitions (and vice versa), more exciting mech battle scenes and lengthier, more detailed normal action sequences (non-mech). Of course, there’s more focus on the serious storyline than Sagara’s personal life at school so it makes those transitions easier. Then again, there’s less Kaname and that’s just wrong.

Ahhh, the many faces of Kaname:

Must restrain myself and get some sleep. The last seven eps will have to wait. I really have grown up *sniff*… for an anime that has engrossed me such as this, I’m surprised I won’t marathon it.

Btw, anime blogging is fun. At least I can ramble on and on about something I enjoy and not always bitch about shit. Though, this anime blog pales in comparison to what’s out there but hey, I never said I’d make this a habit. I’m just getting a kick out of it.

Plus, I doubt screenies and pics will be posted often. Kaname is just an exception cuz she’s so unique, being that she’s the
Best.
Female.
Anime.
Chick.
Evar.
Period.

EDIT: Oh how wrong I was back then. Not that the world can see the year’s worth of anime blogging I FUCKIN’ LOST CUZ I’M A FUCKIN’ NOOB. Ah well…

Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid [2] + VA stuffs

The second episode of Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid:

Funny.

Pimp.

Pimply funny.

Pimp Status! Funny Status!

Oh man, I can’t believe I held off on this for so long. What the hell was I thinking. And the big bad crazy bad guy is so fuckin’ crazy and so fuckin’ bad in this one. C-R-A-Z-Y

I so missed Kaname. Best. Female. Anime. Chick. Evar. Her VA is one of my faves, Yukino Satsuki, also known for doing Kagome from Inuyasha, Nene from Read or Die TV, Tamayo from Angelic Layer, and Tina from Ai Yori Aoshi. It’s her Kaname/Nene/Kagome voice that I like the most.

Oh, by “one of my faves,” she’s tied for my favorite VA. My second favorite is Kawasumi Ayako, known for doing Mahoro from Mahoromatic, Aoi from Ai Yori Aoshi, Natsuki from Initial D, Fuu from Samurai Champloo, and the one I recently picked up, Tazusa from Ginban Kaleidoscope. Her Fuu/Tazusa voice is great, but her Mahoro/Aoi voice is pleasant to hear as well.

The last of my favorites goes to Asakawa Yuu, known for doing Motoko from Love Hina, Jura from Vandread, Priss from Bubblegum Crisis 2040, and Sakaki from Azumanga Daioh. She’s a great singer to boot.

That’s not my top three, that’s my faves. Yep, they all tied for number one. I’m an otaku/fanboy, shoot me.

Hmm, while I’m on VA’s that I like, honorable mention goes to Horie Yui, known for doing Torou from Fruits Basket, Naru from Love Hina, and Eri from School Rumble, as well as Inoue Kikuko, known for doing Belldandy from Ah! My Goddess, Yayoi from Happy Lesson, and Mizuho from Onegai Sensei.

Damn, what should’ve been a quick post about the second episode of FMP: TSR turned into a fuckin post about VAs. All that color didn’t exactly make this faster either. Bleah.
